Boys Night...Girls Night...

Tony took Brody for a boys night out at the "K". So, Holly and I decided to have a girls night out too! We went to Pottery Playland and Holly painted Tony a giant coffee mug for his 33rd Birthday next week. We had such a great time. I love watching her "create" things. She is a girl after my own heart. Here are a couple pics of her refining her painting skills and a couple of Tony and Brody at the game:

Brody's 10!

Yesterday was Brody's 10th Birthday. He wanted to go bowling, so I rented a lane in the den at Aaron's Family Fun Center. (It's really neat in there by the way. Great place to go for a private party and it's not that expensive.) So we bowled for a couple of hours, ate pizza and then Brody got to play a few games in the Arcade. He got the new Pokemon Titanium game for his Nintendo DS which he was absolutely ecstatic about and $100 from the grandparents! I think he made out pretty well. Here are a couple of pics:

The festivities continued this evening as well. Brody and I went and saw the new Harry Potter Movie, "Half Blood Prince". It was really good. We can't wait for the next installment. Then on Saturday, he will be having a sleepover with a couple of buddies. That should be interesting...lol. I'm sure I'll have lots to post after that event.

Did she really just do that?

Ok, so we were just playing around this morning being silly. Brody and I were sticking our fingers in our mouths and pulling them out making a popping sound, you know like the "lollipop, lollipop, oh lolli lollipop..pop" song. Holly was trying and trying, but she just couldn't get it, so she created her own way of doing it...lol...(you might have to turn your sound up cause it's kind of quiet)...

CHICAGO!!

We're back!! It was a long exhausting weekend, but we had a good time. For the most part the kids were pretty good. We must have literally walked 20 miles this weekend. The only day we didn't walk to our destinations was on Saturday because it was raining.

We were able to pack our long weekend with stuff like the Field Museum, Buckingham Fountain, Museum of Science & Industry, Navy Pier, Sears Tower, Shedd Aquarium, the Lego store, Hard Rock Cafe and so much more! In Chicago 4th of July weekend is what they call the Taste of Chicago. It's basically a giant street fair in Millennium Park with vendors, bands and everything else you can think of (unless you like being swarmed by 2.5 million people I would suggest visiting at another time...lol). We got to see two fireworks shows (and they are spectacular. Nothing like what we see here) and we even caught part of the Mitchell Musso concert in the park (he's a big Disney star off of Hannah Montana). The kids got a kick out of that.

The kids, Tony and I are pooped to say the least and Holly got air sick on the way home poor thing but here's just a few of the pics from this weekend (and there are quite a few here...lol):
