Saturday, 9/20/09 - Post #7 (The Final Day)

So I know that this post is a few days late, but we've had lots going on around here. Holly was sick with the stomach flu for four days (at the worst possible time I might add), but Tony stepped in and did a fantastic job being Dad. I couldn't leave work because I had so much going on. Thanks Tony and I love you!

Oh, and one more thing before I fill you in on the Final Day's Events. I got my wish! This morning I got a package delivered. Tony surprised me with my coffee maker. He's the best. Thanks honey! And now for the final post. I hope you all have had as much fun reading about our week-long journey as we did during it. So without further ado....

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday's Events

I have to work late the next few nights, so I'm going to post Wednesday, Thursday and Friday's events together. Sorry this is such a long post, but enjoy!

Wednesday, 9/16/09 - Post #4
I can really tell that this experiment is starting to get to everybody in this house. We are at the point that we are fighting because we are spending every moment we are at home together. We had to take a time out for ourselves. Everyone went their separate ways; I read a book, Holly colored, Brody played with Legos and Tony was working on some phones. I've discovered that you can spend too much time together. But I think that's OK. Everyone needs personal time to themselves to just do what they want. Tomorrow will be a better day!

Tuesday, 9/15/09 - Post #3

Today was an incredibly loooonng day for me. I was completely swamped at work and all I wanted to do was come home and crash, but I couldn't. I had a haircut appointment. So after work I picked Holly up and dropped her off at home with Tony so I could get to the salon. It was 7:30 before I got home and Tony was sitting at the kitchen table doing homework with Brody. He had taken the kids to Target with Nanny and Papa to pick out a new book. The no TV thing is really starting to get to me tonight. Both of the kids are in bed and I'd really like to unwind by watching one of my shows, but Tony and I played a game of Sharp Shooters instead. It was fun, but we found ourselves ready for bed quite early. This is going to be a very long week...lol.

Monday, 9/14/09 - Post #2

As usual Tony and I went to work and both the kids went to school. After I got home, I picked both the kids up and took them to get their haircut because they have school pictures this week. Tony went to Lowe's and picked up some supplies to fix a few things around the house. After we got home, Brody and I hit the books studying for his upcoming Social Studies test while Holly colored me a pretty picture. Tony was outside powerwashing the deck to get it ready to waterproof. Then the kids and I sat down and played a few rousing games of Candyland before bedtime.

Totally Satisfying...LOL!

Today at work was our annual kick-off party for our United Way Fundraiser Campaign. Each year they come up with a fun event to help raise extra money for all of the local charities. This year, we got to throw pies in the faces of the Executives! It was totally satisfying and completely worth the $20. Absolutely the best Monday ever...lol (as you can tell by the complete and utter amount of joy spread across my face as I nail my boss)!

The Abbate Experiment - Post #1

Some of you have probably been wondering why I've been "missing" for the last several days. It's not that I have forgotten about you or even that I just didn't have time. We decided to conduct our own little experiment in the Abbate House.

Let me start by saying (and I'll be the first to admit this) that we do not spend enough time together as a family. We are all dependent upon the "electronics" in our home for entertainment instead of looking to each other. I was sick and tired of not doing anything together as a family. So when I woke up last Sunday morning I decided that it was going to change.
