New Projects

I've finished a couple of new projects that I wanted to share with everyone.

The first one is a 5x5 photo frame album. I did one just like this for Chris of her two cuties. I wanted to have something setting out for people to look at to let them know how much we appreciate and love all of our dear friends.

This one is a Family Recipe Book that my Mom and I put together to preserve all of our favorite family recipes (all the way back to my great-great grandmother). I created this one for me and another one for Holly to put in her Hope Chest for when she's ready to start her own family.

This year has absolutely flown by. I can't believe it's over and I'm a year older...lol. I've been on vacation for the last week and I'm finally getting some of the stuff I wanted to do months ago accomplished. I actually got to spend the day scrapbooking with my Mom today. I got a couple of projects finished and I'm hoping to get a lot more done next week (so look for another post!).

The kids had a fabulous Christmas. Holly got a new Nintendo DS and Brody got enough Bionicles and Lego sets to keep him busy for at least the next 6 months...lol. I got Tony a new office chair and he got me a beautiful diamond necklace (Not really fair huh. I got the better end of that deal!!).

As usual there was a pretty funny story attached to this holiday. The layout posted below explains the whole thing. But the short version of the story is that Brody wanted to get Holly a new pair of shoes (which he did) for Christmas. He picked out the cutest Pair of Sketchers, but when Holly opened them up on Christmas morning, the box only had one shoe in it...lol! Tony and I laughed so hard we were crying. The look on Holly's face was priceless. The only thing she had to say was "Mommy, why is there only one?". It was pretty cute. We went back to the store yesterday and picked up the other shoe (it turned out it was the display).

Halloween

OK, so I'm a little behind on keeping up with things lately, but it's been crazy around here. The kids did get to the pumpkin patch and we went trick-or-treating on Halloween though...lol. Here are a couple of the pics. Holly was Hannah Montana (all she talks about lately) and Brody was Obie-Wan-Kinobe (I have no idea if I spelled that right...lol!).

Deanna Rose Farmstead

Tony wasn't feeling well, so I decided to get the kids out of the house because it was such a beautiful day. We went to the Deanna Rose Farmstead. It was so cool! The kids had an absolute blast! We bottle fed the baby goats, rode the ponies, fed the ducks and played on the playground. If you haven't been, it really is worth the trip out there.

Holly wasn't very fond of the goats, they kept knocking her down and she pretty much climbed me like a tree a few times. I finally found her a goat her size and she was happy...lol! Brody couldn't keep them off of him. They all came running and were jumping all over him, but he liked it. All in all, it was a fantastic day. :)

Where has the time gone?

Here it is, the end of September, and I haven't had time for anything this month. We have been so busy with school and work, everything else has been put on hold. Halloween is in a month, then Thanksgiving and then Christmas! Where did this year go!

The kids have been in school for about 6 weeks now and I just got their Mid-terms. Holly is absolutely loving Kindergarten and she is doing great. Brody has A's and B's in science, math and history. He's struggling a little bit with reading, but we are working on that. It is such a dramatic change from last year for him, I couldn't be more proud. This is his last year of elementary school. They are growing up way too fast.

If our lives ever slow down a little, I might be able to get some projects done...lol. I'm not really holding my breath, but it's a wish. I'm really going to try to not let it be an entire month before I get something else done. Tata for now!!

Holly's Allergy Testing

Here is the layout that I put together to remind Holly how she felt on the day of her allergy testing she had done earlier this week. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. She is feeling much better now after having been on her meds for about a week. They are really doing the trick!

What a week!!

This has been such a busy week already, I don't know where to start. It's only Wednesday and we've already had more going on here in three days than we normally do in a month!

On Monday, Labor Day, we had a fantastic BBQ at our house with all of our good friends. The weather was perfect and the food was even better..lol. It was so great to see all of the little ones playing together and having such a great time. The big kids had just as much fun playing the Wii and Red-Neck Golf.

On Tuesday, I took Holly to the allergist. She was tested for just about every kind of allergy known to man (except for foods). She tested positive for everything except dogs, feathers and dry mold. The poor girl is even allergic to cockroaches! I didn't even know that they tested for that..lol. She was not real happy with me when they had finished. She informed me that she would never be coming back to this doctor...lol. I don't blame her. I took some pictures with my cell phone if I could just figure out how to download them I will post them here so you can see the torture that I made her endure. They put her on two different nasal sprays, eye drops and steroids because her nasal cavity was completely swollen shut. My poor baby!! She itched all day yesterday because her back was just covered in hives from the testing. I will have to say that she slept all night last night, which hasn't happened in a couple weeks because she was actually able to breathe!!

Today, we have carpet installers ripping apart our entire house...lol. It's a good thing we had planned on doing this anyway because the allergist said we needed new carpet for Holly (they also told us to replace her mattress and pillow and install an air purifier on the furnace. Do these people think we are made of money...lol). But anyway, they new carpet is beautiful and I can't wait to share some pictures with you. We've needed this for about seven years now...lol. I'm just dreading when they leave because then I have the monumental task of putting everything back in all the bedrooms and living room. I'm not looking forward to that. It's like moving all over again. But I'm glad we're getting this done.

I hope that the rest of the week is nice and quiet (I'm not holding my breath though). I'm hoping to have some new layouts done and pictures to share with you later on this week. So until then, ta ta!! :)
